Learning Recovery Summer Session

Last Updated: 5/12/2021 4:40 AM

The Adelanto Elementary School District is offering a new summer learning and enrichment program: Learning Recovery Summer Session. The summer session will provide an opportunity for your child to learn and have fun. Our highest priority is to provide safe spaces with caring adults, and learning opportunities grounded in student interests that can re-spark their engagement, foster their recovery, and prepare them for returning to in-person learning in the fall.

Summer school generally is offered to a select group of struggling students. The Learning Recovery Summer Session is open to all K-7 students. The instructional program will include English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Physical Education and enrichment. Instructional materials for ELA, Math, and SEL will be provided.

Transportation, breakfast and lunch will be available.

An after school program will also be available. AESD is once again partnering with Action Youth America (AYA) to offer Homework Assistance, Academic Enrichment and Physical Fitness.

Health and Safety

Parents/Guardians: Please review the Health and Safety Plan. We need your help to maintain a safe environment for all staff and students and their families.

The health and safety of the AESD is of the utmost importance. When the Learning Recovery Summer Session begins, on-campus school will look much different than previous years due to new health and safety measures.  The health and safety plan is based on current guidance from public health officials and state agencies that will likely be updated as the situation evolves. It is important to note District plans must focus sharply on academic instruction to enhance student performance and address learning loss.  At the same time, AESD is committed to maintaining the extracurricular programs, clubs, and athletics which are paramount to the physical, mental, and social well-being of AESD students.
