News & Announcements

Passing of Two Adelanto Elementary School District Students

Dear AESD family:

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of two of our students who attended
schools in the Adelanto Elementary School District.

One student was an 8th grader at Columbia Middle School, and the other student was a 6th
grader at Melva Davis Academy of Excellence, and both passed away due to separate vehicle accidents.

On behalf of our Board of Trustees and administration, our thoughts and prayers go out to the
families of those students who have passed and to our community who will be feeling the effects of these losses.

In response, we have provided grief counselors, and support services have been made
available to students, teachers, staff, and families to help them navigate their emotions and
cope with these losses. We will also be working with the City of Adelanto to assess all of our
bus stops, crosswalks, and street signage in the coming days.

Please feel free to reach out to our school administration or myself should you need resources to help cope with these losses.

Sincerely,

Michael Krause, Superintendent
